A rare and collectible 60s model beloved by modern players

Based on thorough scans of the rare and coveted original models, the 1964 Trini Lopez Standard Reissue gives you an authentic vintage ownership experience from the chunky '64 neck profile to the unique trapeze tailpiece. "The Gibson guitar that was inspired by Trini Lopez is as exciting as the young performer who helped create it," reads one of Gibson's original 1960s advertisements. While Trini Lopez sadly passed away in August 2020, he continued to perform with his namesake model into his 80s, and the model is also favored by many other famous modern musicians, including Dave Grohl and Noel Gallagher. The 1964 Trini Lopez Standard Ultra Light Aged features an ES-style three-ply maple/poplar/maple semi-hollow thinline body with a solid maple centerblock for feedback resistance and enhanced sustain. The solid mahogany neck has a comfortable Medium C profile. It is equipped with a rosewood fretboard with 22 authentic medium jumbo frets and split diamond cellulose nitrate inlays that are one of the visual hallmarks of the Trini Lopez Standard. The diamond theme continues with the f-holes on the body, which are also diamond-shaped, as well as the single diamond trapeze tailpiece with Trini Lopez insert. The six-on-a-side headstock is often referred to as a Non-Reverse Firebird headstock. However, the design actually originated with the Trini Lopez Standard and predates the Non-Reverse Firebird, which wasn't introduced until 1965. This Trini Lopez Standard features Ultra Light Aging by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged finish treatment, paired with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of light play wear, giving it the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original example from the Gibson Golden Era. It comes packaged in a Gibson Custom black and yellow hardshell case to help keep it safe when in storage or while traveling.
