A Postmodern Greatest Hits Package

In the literary world, postmodernists took the tools honed by modernist authors and used them to craft works that highlighted the absurdity of human existence while questioning the intrinsic meaning of everything. But, don't worry: in the guitar world, there's nothing absurd or meaningless about Fender's new Postmodern Telecaster from the 2019 Custom Shop Collection! In fact, few things are more simple and fulfilling than sitting down with one of these bad boys and rocking out.

What makes these guitars so meaningful? Well, over the years, Fender has designed a wide range of inspiring guitars. Each period of their storied history produced innovation that made guitars feel, look, and sound different. For the Postmodern series, Fender has cherry-picked their most inspiring features from the past and assembled them into a cohesive whole. So, these Postmodern guitars aren't beholden to one year or decade; rather, they take their inspiration from Fender's entire storied history.

A Terrifying Telecaster

The Postmodern iteration of the Telecaster rears its head this year in the 2019 Custom Shop Collection, and it may be one of the most terrfying Teles to ever grace the Wildwood shelves. It's got two truly fearsome hand-wound Custom Shop pickups: an Original Blackguard in the bridge position and a Twisted Tele in the neck. The Blackguard has all kinds of classic Tele punch, snarl, shimmer, and twang. By contrast, the Twisted Tele is warm and woody, with smooth, clear highs and a Strat-like quack in the upper-midrange. With these two sounds, you can make it through just about any jam, session or gig!

What really makes this Telecaster a future legend, however, is its neck. Holy guacamole, this thing is a stringbender's paradise. Fender equipped these bad boys with a 12" radius, an appointment favored by players like Eric Johnson. In practical terms, this means two htings: you can set the action lower without your notes fretting out, and you can bend effortlessly anywhere on the neck. For country players and expressive blues players, this is an incredible neck, though anyone who prefers flatter radii will love it.

That flatter fretboard sits atop a neck with '60 Oval C-shaped profile, which is a Goldilocks approved guitar neck: not too thin, not too thick. In the wood, you can find 22 medium jumbo frets. Medium jumbos are a well-rounded fret that appeal to players all around the stylistic map, making this quite a versatile neck.

We are proud to present such a monstrous Telecaster for our exceptional customers. We're sure that this Postmodern Greatest Hits package will inspire you to reach new heights on your musical journey!
