Fender Limited Edition American Original ’50s Stratocaster
Overview Video
Attention, all Strat-slingers traversing the Wildwoodiverse! Our friends at Fender were kind enough to build us a super-limited run of less than twenty American Original Strats in a sweet Mary Kay Blonde finish. Once these guitars are gone, they're gone, so don't miss out on one of these spectacular blonde bombshells!
American Original. World-Class Tone
When Fender loosed the Stratocaster upon the unsuspecting denizens of Earth in 1954, they weren’t trying to create a classic—they just wanted to make the best electric guitar they could. However, the Strat’s refined styling, innovative floating tremolo system, and one-of-a-kind sound helped it quickly grow into one of the most legendary guitars of all time (the fact that single-name guys like Beck, Clapton, and Hendrix all played Strats didn’t hurt their prestige, either). Now, Fender honors the legacy of these original axes by introducing the American Original ‘50s Stratocaster.Stratocasters are a perennial favorite among the Wildwood staff, so we are absolutely geeked about these guitars! There’s a lot to be excited about, but the new Pure Vintage pickups are especially electrifying. Fender has taken great pains to recreate the singular sound of the original fifties single-coils, and the results are spectacular. By using Formvar-coated wire, cloth-covered output wires, fiber bobbins, and alnico 5 magnets, Fender has managed to wind modern pickups that sound like they came straight out of a time capsule! They quack, chime, sparkle, and cut just like vintage pickups, and they sound so accurate that playing one of these guitars feels like taking a vacation in one of your favorite records.
These super-sweet Stratocasters also play beautifully thanks to the combination of their modern 9.5” radius and their Soft V neck profile. The soft V is great for chording, and the flatter radius is great for string-bending (the vintage-tall frets help in that regard, too!). So, you get the best of both worlds! Also, Fender has given these guitars a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, so they’re able to breathe and resonate just like the legendary vintage Strats of yore. Wildwood Guitars is proud to showcase the Fender American Original ‘50s Stratocaster, and we hope you find it as inspiring as we do!
