Fender Custom Shop 2019 Collection Vintage Custom 1958 Top-Load Telecaster
A Top-Notch Top-LoaderWildwoodians, we are proud to present yet another stunning guitar from the Fender Custom Shop's 2019 Collection: the Vintage Custom 1958 Top-Load Telecaster. As its name implies, this white blonde beauty has a bridge that allows you to top-load the strings or run them through the body. This is particularly cool, because playing a top-loaded Telecaster is a totally different experience. Top-loaded bridges make for less string tension, so your fretting hand doesn't have to work as hard in general. Also, it makes bending strings a LOT easier, and it makes the attack a bit snappier and the overall timbre a bit brighter. Of course, if you're after rounder, woodier Tele tone, you can use the string-thru-body configuration.
Beyond this awesome bridge, there's a lot of other stuff going on here. The two handwound Custom Shop '58 single-coils put out plenty of classic Tele sounds with the aid of a resonant ash body. And, it has great handfeel thanks to a comfy 10/56 neck profile and medium vintage frets--a combination that will feel like home to players in many styles. Furthermore, the '58 TL Tele has a 7.25"-9.5' compound radius, which makes for supremely easy chording low on the neck and buttery bends up high.
We're proud to showcase the Fender Vintage Custom 1958 Top-Load Telecaster. We know that its innovative bridge design, stellar electronics, and inviting handfeel will no doubt inspire you to reach new heights on your fretboard journey.
