Marshall Amps 2555X Silver Jubilee Head
Jubilatory Jams!Celebration. Party. Carnival. Festival. Jamboree. These are all synonyms for the word "jubilee," and they're also all accurate descriptors for the joyous group of Wildwood employees that gathered around the Marshall Silver Jubilee when we plugged it in for the first time. You can hardly blame us for being excited, because the Silver Jubilee is one of the most legendary heads in the history of rock and roll. Originally designed to commemorate Marshall's twenty-fifth anniversary, the Silver Jubilee quickly became a collector's item because of its rarity, sweet sound, and stylish looks. Other than a limited run of Slash Jubilees in '96, the Silver Jubilee remained out of production until 2015 when it made a triumphant return.
The Sound of SilverIt's easy to see why Marshall brought the Silver Jubilee back: it looks cooler than Teddy Pendergrass sipping a milkshake in a snowstorm! It's even easier to hear why, as the Silver Jubilee is a true sonic titan. The clean channel will wow you with its sparkling sweet tone and bell-like chime. By contrast, the dirty channel is the sound is pure rock crunch. At medium gain levels, you'll find a combination of sparkle and punch that will compel you riff away 'till the early hours of the morning. At the highest-gain settings, you'll get more saturation for a singing, smooth lead tone or a gnarly metallic rhythm tone.
The Silver Jubilee Reissue also has several cool features that will help you tweak its tone to find every flavor of Marshall tone. It has a half-power switch and master volume control that lets you put a lid on the loudness for smaller gigs, and an effects loop so you can make sure your stompboxes sound great. There's also a push/pull knob that gives the clean channel a little bit more bite and grit, if that's your thing.
Celebrate Good TimesWe're proud to showcase the 2555x Silver Jubilee reissue from our friends at Marshall. We have no doubt that its style, versatility, and killer tone will inspire you to plug in, crank it up, and rock out 'till the cows come home!
