Marshall Amps 1987X Plexi Reissue
Plexi PowerWildwoodians, we invite you to experience the Power of the Plexi by taking one of these awesome 1987x reissues for a spin. These awesome amplifiers are recreations of the "Plexi" amplifiers that formed the sonic backbone of seventies rock. Of course, the word "Plexi" is synonymous among guitar players with roaring overdrive and distortion, and this reissue excels at that sort of sound. The lows are as warm and delicious as grandma's apple pie, the midrange will punch like a heavyweight champ and snarl like a junkyard dog, and the highs can sing or scream depending on your mood. And, it also has a gorgeous clean sound to boot! At lower volumes, the highs have a delicious sunny crystalline chime, the midrange is warm and vocal, and the lows are woody and clear--think Hendrix's "Little Wing" for reference.
All in all, it's a perfect recreation of the seventies Marshall tones you love! However, it does have an effects loop to give modern players the control they need over the sound of their stompboxes--a nice touch!
A Tale of Two ChannelsMuch of the Plexi magic comes from the interaction between the amps two split channels, each controlled by a separate volume knob. Channel one, the "High Treble" channel, has a bright, sunny, cutting tone with a bit more gain and a greater capacity for meanness. The other channel, "Normal," has a warmer, cleaner sound with greater balance across the frequency spectrum. Each channel also has a low- and high-sensitivity input to give you even more control, too!
But, the real magic happens when you use a patch cable to jump the two channels like so many seventies six-string slingers did. When you do so, you can blend the sound of both channels and find the perfect flavor of Marshall tone!
Monster Marshall TonesWe are proud to present the Marshall 1987x Plexi reissue, an amp that captures the raw, visceral power of rock and roll. We invite you to plug in, crank the volume, and rock out! Once you've experienced the power of the Plexi that lives within these beastly reissues, we have no doubt you'll fall in love with their sweet sounds.
