Fender Custom Shop Dealer Select Wildwood 10 Artisan Caballo Tono Ligero Telecaster - Tamo Ash
“Caballo Tono Ligero” translates to “light tone horse” in English, and that is a fitting name for these sonic stallions! We loved the standard version of these guitars so much that we asked the brilliant men and women of the Fender Custom Shop to build us some with our signature 10” radius, and we believe the resulting guitars are modern classics. Thanks to their semi-hollow construction and featherweight tonewoods, these guitars are easy on your back and your eyes, and they have a sound that you can’t find anywhere else.
This is partly due to their special pickup configuration, and partly due to their exotic tonewoods. The neck pickup is a TV Jones, and it provides the clarity, balance, and top-end twang of a great single-coil with the midrange bite of a classic humbucker. Of course, we had to put one of our hand-wound Wildwood Spec Twisted Tele pickups in the bridge, and we were delighted at the rich, bright, three-dimensional sound it imparts to these astounding Artisans.
When you combine the sound of these pickups with the full harmonic response and articulation of the Tamo Ash top, you get a Tele that looks and sounds a cut above the rest. We are proud to present these beautiful workhorses to our exceptional customers, and we invite you to saddle up and experience the magic of these majestic steeds!
