This Brazilian rosewood bombshell belongs in the Les Paul hall of fame! If you told me that this guitar came straight out of a time machine, I'd probably believe you--it's that vintage accurate! I was sincerely taken aback by how much low end this guitar produces. Though the resonance is of the dry sort that emphasizes the fundamental, it still sounds huge and all-encompassing! Thankfully, there's no unwanted harmonic fat to muddy up the sound! The bridge pickup is unnaturally (perhaps even supernaturally) powerful, and it has more low-end that some neck pickups. In the upper midrange, you can hear the classic rasp of a vintage-style PAF, and you can hear a pleasant woody thunk in the low mids. The neck pickup has more beef than fourteen cattle ranches! Like, we're talking rattle-the-windows, cause-a-minor-seismic-event sort of low-end. I don't know if I've ever played a neck pickup that lends single notes this much weight and power! The woody resonance is still there, but it has a more open, hollow character, and the high end is sweet and smooth. It also responds to your pick with near-instantaneous speed! Having a thick, snarling bridge pickup and a fat, smooth neck pickup allows you to cover all sorts of musical ground. Anyone seeking a well-rounded '59 reissue that sounds just like the genuine article will fall head over heels in love with this serial!
