Condition of Instrument
This 1968 Gibson Johnny Smith model is in Very Good condition. There is some light buckle rash on the back. A small area on the top of the instrument, roughly the size of a dime, has been filled with stain or lacquer. There's also a lacquer touch up on the bottom of the treble side by the strap button. These 2 small repairs can only be seen with a black light. The pickguard has been changed, with a volume and tone control added. Outside of these changes this instrument is 100% original. Includes hardshell case.
This instrument manages to balance a beautifully full, rich and resonant response with laser focused clarity and spectacular articulation. Acoustically the instrument is wonderfully woody and warm with a delightful sparkle on the high-end. Simply put? This is a fantastic sounding archtop. The Wildwood Staff is absolutely thrilled with this instrument, and we invite you to discover the magic of a spectacular archtop!
