Martin Guitars D-18 – 1935 Sunburst
The Yardstick for GreatnessA guitar that needs no introduction, the modern-day D-18 is easily one of the best values in the Martin line up. This venerable creation features perhaps the most coveted and celebrated feature offered by Martin - a forward shifted and scalloped “X” brace. This exhaustive process reduces the overall weight and mass of the top bracing as well as pushes the “X” brace “forward” and away from the bridge plate.
This allows for a marked increase in resonance and bass response from the D-18, freeing it to express a degree of power and dynamism not experienced since the the mid 1930s. Wildwood guitars believes that now is the new Golden Age of luthiere, and we’re proud to offer our clients a chance to own these brilliant expressions of Martin’s artistry.
