This D-35 might be one of the best anniversary gifts ever! It is everything a rosewood-bodied Martin dreadnought should be: big, rich, and bold, with a rib-rattling low E. The attack is quite spongey, and you don't get a whole lot of pick noise before a waterfall of pretty overtones washes over your eardrums. The lows are chocolate-y and rich, the midrange is rock solid and clear, and the highs are replete with golden, glassy overtones. All in all, this is the sort of guitar that could easily steal an entire afternoon from you if you sit down with it on the porch. It just feels good to play big chords on, and its richness makes playing single-note lines a delight. It's also quite responsive, so it would work well for fingerstyle, too. Anyone looking for a textbook rosewood Martin should check this serial out!
This D-35 has clearly been played (that's probably why it sounds so good), but it has also been taken care of. As such, the frets show moderate wear, and the back of the neck has been buffed to a gloss from hours of play. There are light scratches and small dings sprinkled throughout the finish, and there is a moderate amount of buckle rash on the back. A previous owner installed relic'd Waverly tuners, and they look awesome. We can reinstall the original Grovers, but they will not cover the holes drilled to accommodate the aftermarket tuners. A previous owner also installed a Trance pickup system, so this bad boy is ready to take the stage. it comes with its original Martin hardshell case, too. If you don't mind a few alterations and some honest play wear, you can snag a monster Martin here at an amazing value!
