It should probably be illegal for a guitar to sound as rich AND clear as this Private Stock McCarty SC-594. Dubious legality aside, this is an incredible axe, and not just because it is the embodiment of aesthetic perfection. It has just the right amount of vintage-style sag in the attack, which gives way to extraordinarily rich, lush resonance. The bridge pickup has fat bass response, three-dimensional chiming trebles, and punchy midrange. Despite its full, sonorous voice, it still sounds quite crystalline, and it will slice and dice through the mix. To put it simply, the neck pickup sounds enormous. The lows are gargantuan, the highs are preposterously meaty and weighty, and the mids are broad and throaty. All in all, playing this guitar is a magical experience, and it would make a wonderful addition to any PRS lover's quiver.
This glorious Private Stock PRS is in superb shape, and it has only a few cosmetic imperfections to report. It shows only light signs of play wear. There is some light buckle rash on the back, and there are some minor dings/fingernail impressions around the bridge wheels, but that's it! If you don't mind a couple tiny flaws, you can a truly jaw-dropping Private Stock piece. It also comes with its original brown PRS hardshell case.
