Tonal Evaluation

In the wild, mongooses are known for killing dangerous venomous snakes. Though I'm not sure if this James Tyler Mongoose Special will offer much protection against a cobra, it does have the sort of tone that slays all comers!

First off, it has a round, piano-like attack that gives way to the sort of frequency response that recording engineers dream of. It's warm, woody, and the touch-sensitive midrange is definitely at the forefront of the sound. Nevertheless, its semi-hollow construction gives it more openness and sparkle in the high end and a bit more warm, vintage-style low end.

The bridge pickup is the stuff of rock and roll dreams. It puts out plenty of woody, punchy midrange to go with tight, muscular lows and a surprisingly sparkly high end.

The neck pickup is thick and juicy! It has broad, open-throated vocal midrange response, to go with deep, warm, dry lows and just-right highs that sit at the midpoint between glassy and sparkly.

Anyone looking for a guitar with a sound that could charm a cobra will love this killer Mongoose Special!
