James Tyler Studio Elite HD
The Alien Guano finish on this James Tyler begs the question: if it is indeed the color of an alien's guano, what is that poor alien eating? And should he see a dietary specialist? Regardless, the paint job on this bad boy made the whole store stop what they were doing to gaze lovingly at its swirling pattern, so it's definitely got things covered in the looks department. It sounds absolutely out of this world, too! If I were to pick a sci-fi movie to compare this guitar's sound to, it would be Independence Day. It's big, bold, epic, and it ultimately sounds larger than life! The bridge pickup is an absolute delight! It has big, beefy lows, punchy mids, and a sweet, vintage-style top-end. It's great for classic rock riffage, but I also had a blast playing the blues and chugging away on some 80s thrash riffs with it--isn't that the definition of versatile? The middle pickup has plenty of top-end chime to go with its tight lows and upper-mid snarl. The neck pickup sounds bigger than an alien warship, and when you click on the distortion it sounds like the sonic equivalent of the Death Star's laser. This guitar is versatile enough to handle everything from earthy, aggressive rock to glammed-out Ziggy Stardust jams to Floydian psychedelic space-blues! It definitely took me on a rocket ride to Tone Planet, and I'm sure its expressiveness and versatility will inspire you to reach new heights!
