By crafting stunning finishes and necks that practically play themselves, James Tyler has cemented his legacy in the guitar world, and Wildwood Guitars is honored to have been along for the ride.
Each pickup on this James Tyler is inspiring, but what really makes this guitar magic is the way they work together. The neck pickup gave me a shockingly accurate recreation of Hendrix's "Little Wing" tone, and I love its round, fat bass response and warm midrange. The middle pickup is quite even, balanced, and clear, with a bit of quack in the upper mids to help it cut through (and snarl like a junkyard dog through a distorted amp!). The bridge is a roaring rock and roll humbucker that produces foundation-shaking low-end, punchy mids, and snappy trebles. So, you have a fat single-coil, a Goldilocks single-coil (not too bright, not too dark), and a beastly 'bucker. With those sounds (and the gorgeous quack and sparkle in positions two and four), I'm confident that I could make it through any gig or recording session with just this guitar, and I'm also confident I'd get lots of compliments on my tone afterwards (my playing, maybe not so much!). Anyone seeking a versatile S-style guitar with many spectacular sounds within it will love this serial!
