Two Tonal Powerhouses Collide

Wildwood Guitars has had a long, illustrious relationship with both Paul Reed Smith and Dave Grissom, who has long been a hero to the Wildwood Staff. When Paul Reed Smith offered Wildwood Guitars the chance to raid the Private Stock Vault, we knew we had an opportunity to do something incredibly unique. The Wildwood Staff has always been captivated by the incredible craftsmanship, gorgeous finishes and unparalleled consistency in Paul's works of art, but the idea of getting to hand select tone woods and create a new model was just too exciting to pass up. Additionally, we knew it was time to simultaneously pay tribute to one of our favorite artists, and two of our favorite models in the PRS lineup: The ever-popular DGT and the now iconic McCarty 594.

We flew out to Stevensville, Maryland where we were graciously allowed access to the Private Stock Vault, spending hours hand selecting the most incredible tone woods for our very own exclusive, Private Stock Dealer Limited run. Inspired by the tonal bliss of both the McCarty 594 and DGT, we began discussions on what would eventually evolve into one of our dream instruments: The DGT 594. We knew that if we were to combine these two tonal powerhouses, we would have something incredibly special that we would just have to share the rest of the world, and we just couldn't help ourselves. Every detail mattered, from the density of the necks to the specific weight of the mahogany backs. Paul was gracious enough to allow us to hand select every piece of each instrument with tone being the priority, first and foremost. We took the already outstanding platform of the DGT and elaborated on the wonderful groundwork created by Paul Reed Smith and Dave Grissom, himself, adding a McCarty 594 back thickness and 24.594 scale length.

The Wildwood Team took extreme care in selecting the finest quilted maple tops and exceptional Brazilian rosewood for both both the fretboard and headstock veneer, with the addition of stunning etched mother of pearl inlays. The result is a visually stunning presentation to compliment the incredible tonal characteristics of the DGT pickup set, 594 thickness and scale length, along with classic mahogany and maple wood chemistry. If you've ever chatted with us about Paul's phenomenal instruments, you know how much we love both Dave Grissom and his outstanding signature model. Marrying this iconic instrument with 594 appointments has resulted in our one of most treasured Private Stock models ever.... Wildwood Guitars is humbled, proud and honored to present the Paul Reed Smith Wildwood Guitars Private Stock Dealer Limited DGT 594, a collision of two tonal powerhouses.
