Taylor Guitars 514ce – Lutz
Tonal Evaluation
This serial presents a delightfully fresh, inspiring take on a classic sound. It's no secret that spruce and mahogany make great partners, but Lutz spruce is a bit of a rarer breed. Lutz Spruce has a little extra harmonic content and a lot of extra headroom, and it tends to have a lightning-fast response time. Its attack is also quite round and piano-like. Paired with mahogany back and sides as it is here, Lutz sounds powerful and robust, but with excellent clarity, and note separation. This serial responds to a forceful attack nicely, and it is nigh-impossible to get it to sound harsh, making it a great choice for flatpickers seeking a medium-bodied strummer. Its clear, midrange forward voice and responsiveness also allow it to excel as a fingerpicking guitar. Anyone seeking a Grand Auditorium with a commanding presence and incredible versatility will love this serial!Specifications:
