Condition Report
Wildwoodians, this John Slobod 00 is so special and memorable that when I called John Slobod to confirm the specifications, he instantly remembered it when I gave him the serial. It made quite an impression on me, too--no modern guitar has a right to sound this much like a vintage Martin, and I suspect witchcraft may be involved somehow. It's also in super-clean shape! It shows extremely light signs of normal use (mostly just some tiny dings on the top), but it has no real cosmetic imperfections to report beyond that. The frets also look fantastic! When I spoke with Mr. Slobod, he also mentioned that he reconditioned this guitar about 8-9 years after its original purchase. There's a small bridge plate piece that shores up the area where the string balls rest inside the guitar, and I think John likely added it as part of the reconditioning process.
Whoever is lucky enough to take this sweet wooden machine home will find themselves with a lifelong acoustic companion, and I will be happy for that person, but I will also weep openly when I can no longer play it on my lunch break (kidding)(kind of).
