You can take the sound of your amp when all is perfect, say a cranked stack in the studio, and have THAT recorded tone and response stored to use at your leisure... Ideal for Pro Studios, home recording enthusiasts, and owners of amps that they just can't turn up loud enough to make themselves happy (at least without making the neighbors angry!!). Gig Bag will be available soon.

Overview:

The Kemper Profiling Amplifier digitally captures the sonic fingerprint of virtually any guitar amp. The days of struggling to reproduce that magic mic position in front of the speaker cabinet are over. Now you can have a profile for every combination of tones and settings your tube amp setup provides. The Kemper Profiling Amplifier offers a convenient and accurate A/B comparison mode so you can be sure that all your profiles are just like the original amp. If you have used some great-sounding, well-maintained vintage tube amps in the studio, you can create profiles from these amps to use anywhere you like, at any time. Profiles can be spiced up with the Kemper Profiling Amplifier's included professional quality effects; you can save variations with alternative amp settings, and you can exchange the cabinet simulation within a Profile at any time.

Do you plan on touring? Simply dial up your Profiles from the studio session when you play live. Instead of having to risk bringing a truckload of rare and fragile vintage amps to the gig to get your sound, now you can profile your amps before the tour, and just bring the Kemper Profiling Amplifier with you on the road! The Kemper Profiling Amplifier gives you what generations of guitar players have been waiting for: the ability to have your sound anytime, anywhere.

For a description of the controls and inputs/outputs on the Kemper Profiling Amp check the detailed photos in the gallery.

Please visit http://www.kemper-amps.com for videos, audio samples, interviews, the Kemper Community and more...

First introduced in 1993, the Imperial has become a proven favorite of guitarists seeking authentic vintage tone. Sadly, most wildlife experts agree that the chupacabra is nothing more than an urban legend. However, if it were real, and if it played guitar, it would definitely have a Chupacabra from Mythos Pedals on its pedalboard. The Mythos Chupacabra is the sort of fuzz that befits a mythical beast thanks to its unholy combination of raw power and venomous bite. Mythos's founder, Zach Broyles, designed the Chupacabra to help Texas blues enthusiasts cop the sounds from the first few ZZ Top records, but players of all stripes will find plenty of gnarly tones to fall in love with!

Two Knobs. Endless Options

Though the Chupacabra only has two knobs, it's quite a versatile monster! Rolling back the gain and cranking the volume gives you a delightful natural breakup reminiscent of an old tweed Fender with the volume pinned, but with a hint of the ripping-velcro high-end that the best old Fuzzface circuits have. This open, more overdrive-style sound is killer for crunchy rhythms and searing leads! Going past twelve o'clock on the gain knob puts you squarely in fuzz territory, and man, is fuzz territory ever a fun place to live in with this pedal! The top-end slices though a mix like a machete through brush on the Texas prairie, the midrange hits you in the gut like tough hombre in a Dallas pool hall, and the low end is as rich and full as the oilfields in the Permian Basin. Even with both knobs on ten, the Chupacabra remains dynamic, and it does a spectacular job of emulating the amp-melting fuzz tones of the sixties and seventies. At all points in between these three extremes, you can find all sorts of killer sounds, and you can tweak things further and get all sorts of cleaner overdriven sounds by rolling off the volume on your guitar.

A Small Disclaimer

Wildwood Guitars is pleased to showcase the Mythos Chupacabra, and we hope you find it as inspiring as we do, but please be careful: Chupacabra users have reported experiencing several side effects including abnormal beard growth, sudden increased mastery of the blues scale, a desire to purchase cheap sunglasses, and an insatiable need to play guitar. If you are experiencing any of these side effects, good! That means that the Chupacabra has gotten a ahold of you. How cool? Well, I'll let the description of Mjolnir from Arthur Gilchrist Brodeur's translation of the Viking epic "The Prose Edda" speak for itself:

"Then he gave the hammer to Thor, and said that Thor might smite as hard as he desired, whatsoever might be before him, and the hammer would not fail; and if he threw it at anything, it would never miss, and never fly so far as not to return to his hand..."

Just as every god of thunder needs a divine hammer, every guitar player needs a dependable dirt pedal that will never miss and never fail. The Mjolnir Overdrive from Mythos Pedals may not be made of enchanted steel, but, just like its namesake, you just can't lose when you use it.

A Vaunted Circuit

The Mythos Mjolnir Overdrive is based on the circuit of the legendary Klon Centaur, a pedal famed for both its organic, transparent sound and its rarity (not to mention it sticker shock-inducing price tag!). Our friends at Mythos have managed to capture the spirit of this legendary hoofed beast while adding in a few important tweaks to the circuit that bring in a little more clarity and grit.

Field-Testing Transparency

"Transparency" is a favorite buzzword of pedal aficionados, but transparent pedals are as difficult to describe as they are trendy. Basically, a good transparent overdrive will make your amp sound like the volume is at 7 when it's actually at 2. That way, you get the natural-sounding amp overdrive without having to turn up to an earsplitting volume.

To test the Mjolnir's transparency, I plugged it into the amp I know best: the Friedman Dirty Shirley. I've done tonal evaluations on hundreds of guitars using an overdriven Dirty Shirley, so I know the nuances and details of its tone well enough to tell if any pedal I put in front of it is truly transparent.

Hammering it Out

So, I set the volume on two, clicked the Mjolnir on, strummed an open E chord, and immediately forgot that I was supposed to be working as I started jamming out. I couldn't help myself, because this pedal is truly incredible! With the Mjolnir on, your amp responds just like it would if the volume were cranked even if you're actually playing at neighbor-friendly levels.

To complete my test, I turned the Mjolnir off, and put the Dirty Shirley on seven. The amp certainly got louder, but the timbre of the overdrive barely changed at all! I expect a lot from Mythos Pedals, but the Mjolnir exceeded my wildest expectations. It's hard to quantify what makes an overdrive transparent, but I know one when I hear one, and the Mjolnir passes the transparency test with flying colors (or, more accurately, a flying lack of coloration!).

Clear Tone. Full Sound. Can't Lose

Earlier, I mentioned that every guitar player needs an overdrive that will never miss and never fail, and the Mjolnir fits those criteria. That may seem like a bold claim, but it's really not! All the Mjolnir does is help you get more out of your guitar and your amp, and it does so in an unobtrusive, natural way. If you haven't seen it, you should, because it's a cult classic filled with delightfully cheesy sixties special effects and heroic swordfights. In the movie, which loosely follows an old Greek myth, Jason and his band of warriors battle an army of stop-motion skeletons for the fleece of a golden ram at the behest of Zeus. The Mythos Golden Fleece provides a different type of fuzz than the one in the legend, but it is no less divine, and I would surely fight an army of the undead to secure its place on my pedalboard.

Give Me MORE

The Mythos Golden Fleece's design reflects an old adage of Henry David Thoreau: simplify, simplify, simplify! It has one knob (a master volume/gain control, appropriately labeled "More"), because everyone knows that controls for things silly things like "gain" and "EQ" only get in the way of a pedal's ability to stir up a rock and roll ruckus.

One-Knob Wonder

And holy mackerel, can the Golden Fleece ever make a joyous noise! A lot of one-knob pedals are pretty much useless unless you crank them, but this one sounds great at lots of different places on the dial. At nine o'clock, this pedal sounds like an overdrive that hit the weight room and drank its Muscle Milk with religious regularity for a year. At noon, the transformation begins. The Golden Fleece gets hairier and hairier. The low-end takes on a smooth, Muff-like timbre, and the highs have a snarling quality that sounds somewhere between a broken Octavia and a dimed Fuzzface.

Of course, when you do crank the "More" knob all the way up, this pedal reaches its final form. It sounds like no other fuzz on the planet. The closest analogue I could think of is this: back in his early days with Crazy Horse, Neil Young would run his tweed Fender Deluxe so hot that he had to put a massive fan behind it to keep it from exploding into a rock and roll fireball when he played live. This pedal does a scary-good impersonation of a tweed amp on the verge of catastrophic meltdown, but it has a little bit less sag and a little fuller frequency response. Rolling off your guitar's volume knob allows you to find all sorts of delightful tones that straddle the line between fuzz and overdrive, making this a surprisingly versatile pedal.

The Sound of Pure Rock and Roll

The Golden Fleece has made quite an impression among the Wildwood staff members because of its brash personality and surprising versatility. Sonically, it is the exact opposite of pure, but its purpose is clear and righteous: to make your electric guitar sound like it is on the verge of spontaneous combustion. We're proud to showcase such a gnarly pedal, and we invite you to clothe yourself in its delightfully wooly, golden fuzz.

HeadRush Pedalboard Gig Bag
This light-weight gig bag will keep your HeadRush Pedalboard and other accessories safe and secure while traveling to wherever your next gig takes you.

• Light-weight nylon design with 1/2" foam padding

• Durable re-enforced handle; adjustable shoulder strap

• Storage pockets for cables, picks, and other accessories

Includes:
• HeadRush Gig Bag

• Adjustable Shoulder Strap

Welcome to the Twilight Tone
Earlier this year, a group of mad scientists gathered in a secret Fender facility at an undisclosed location outside Corona, California. Together, they hatched a nefarious scheme codenamed "Project Parallel Universe" to take the guitar world by storm. Using dark, arcane technologies, they combined beloved electric guitar shapes and shaped them into hybrids of terrifying rock and roll power. They made them bigger, faster and stronger. They didn't think about the consequences of their actions. Now, like a horde of monsters emerging from a wormhole connected to a parallel universe, the products of their evil experiments are finding their way to guitar stores across America. We believe that the answer is a resounding "neither!" The new Strat-Tele Hybrid from Fender's Parallel Universe series is the first of an entirely new breed that is just as inspiring as the two designs it draws its influence from.

Fender used ash as the building block for these guitars in order to give the player powerful lows and bold trebles and plopped in some bright, spanky Custom Shop '69 Strat pickups. As a result of just a couple of minor tweaks to the circuit, the Wildwood Mjolnir now has a tuned treble knob, a gain and output taper that matches the feel of the original Klon, and a delightful slight scoop in the low mids that helps your signal sit beautifully in a mix. Other than that, it's the same pedal you've come to know and love!

Also, the folks at Mythos can produce this version of the pedal in greater numbers every month, which is great news, because we're insatiable for more Mjolnirs! From now on, we'll announce when we get a shipment of Mjolnirs on Facebook and Instagram, so be sure to follow us there to stay up on all news regarding overdrive goodness. Given the overwhelming demand for these pedals, we have elected to ship them out on a first-come, first-served basis in order to give every customer a fair shot at getting one when a shipment arrives. When they do arrive, we'll update the quantity on the website and then it's open season, so don't delay if you want to snag one of these beastly stompboxes!

For more information about why this pedal is worthy of bearing the name of Thor's hammer, read on!

Better Than a Myth

For every other Mythos pedal on our website, I had a blast researching the mythology behind each name and connecting it to the inspiring tone of these wondrous hand-built creations. However, for the Wildwood Edition Mjolnir Overdrive, there is no need to do any historical sleuthing, because it has already attained mythical status--and for good reason. Simply put, the Wildwood Edition Mjolnir is one of the most inspiring tone-shaping devices I've ever had the privilege of plugging into. Frankly, the fact that Zach at Mythos chose to put our name on a pedal that will no doubt achieve legendary status in the pantheon of world-class stompboxes is one of the greatest honors ever bestowed on Wildwood Guitars, and we can't thank him enough for taking us on a ride to sonic Valhalla. Let's take a closer look and see what makes the Wildwood Edition Mjolnir such an impressive, expressive pedal!

A Five-Star Centaur

To talk about why this seemingly-simple overdrive opens up a new world of gristle-laden gritty goodness, we'll need to go through a quick rundown of what it is. Here are the quick and dirty details: it's based on one of the first Mythos prototypes Zach ever built--a dirt pedal inspired by the Klon Centaur circuit--but with a few small-but-significant tweaks that change the overall voicing. The most important change is the addition of new-old stock Germanium clipping diodes from Zach's stash. This may sound like a small change, but each tiny diode has a greater effect on the voice of the pedal than any other part! Furthermore, Zach actually hand-matches the component values for each pair of diodes to ensure that each and every pedal has the perfect level of musical compression and a pleasing overall timbre.

A Shot of Sonic Adrenaline

But, the question remains: does all of this obsessive attention to detail translate to tone once you click the switch and unleash the beast? Well, I can only speak for myself, but when I turned the Wildwood Mjolnir on, I felt like doing a series of cartwheels and handsprings while bellowing my way through Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World" at the top of my lungs. Or maybe I felt more like hopping in an old Camaro and doing 120 MPH down a mountain highway while blaring Steppenwolf at six thousand decibels. You get the idea: the Wildwood Mjolnir creates helps give your guitar that extra little bit of juice that makes you feel and sound like a rock god.

Simply put, the fine folks at Mythos have imbued these pedals with the sort of rock and roll sound that hits you on a visceral level. Playing a power chord makes your pulse quicken and your liver quiver! In more concrete terms, the Wildwood Mjolnir's sound has a translucent quality. When you engage the pedal, your rig still sounds like your rig--just better! So, it's not as "pure" and "transparent" as some other Klon-inspired pedals, but I can't see why anyone would want complete purity or transparency when they can have the glorious glassy, smooth, dirty sheen that the Wildwood Mjolnir provides.

With the gain dimed, it has a cutting, aggressive quality that calls to mind the gnarlier side of the classic rock side of the radio dial, but it never comes within a hundred miles of harshness thanks to the sweet, singing top end. When you lower the gain, the Wildwood Mjolnir rewards you with the sort of light-to-moderate crunch that recording engineers spend hours chasing in the studio. And those who like to play fancy chords with a crunchy sound need not fear the twin evils of muddiness and flubbiness, because the Wildwood Mjolnir always remains clear and balanced with exceptional note separation even with lots of gain. Also, no matter where you set its controls, the Wildwood Mjolnir's amp-like touch-sensitivity remains intact, allowing you to coax lots of different timbres out of the pedal by altering your right- and left-hand technique.

Total Treble

This marvelous Mythos pedal sports a "treble knob" rather than the typical tone knob, and it is a welcome substitution. Essentially, you use the treble knob to dial in how much sparkle you want in the highs. Turn it all the way up, and you'll be delighted by the beautiful cloud of golden-hued overtones that bloom in the trebles! Roll it off, and you'll get a more transparent, warm 'n' woody sound. There are many inspiring sounds hiding on the treble knob at points in between those two extremes, and it's easy to lose an entire afternoon exploring all the myriad possibilities it presents.

A Legend is Born

We believe that the Wildwood Edition of the Mythos Mjolnir Overdrive is as inspiring as any vintage Tube Screamer, seventies Big Muff, eighties Rat, or sixties Fuzzface. We have no doubt that you'll become a fervent believer within a few seconds hitting the switch, and we invite you to experience the magic of a brand-new legend being born by plugging into the Wildwood Edition Mjolnir.

WARNING! The Wildwood Mjolnir has a charge pump and that demands you use +9v DC power ONLY! If you exceed +9V you can fry the protection diode, or worse fry the entire pedal. DO NOT EXCEED +9V or your warranty will be voided and your pedal will need repair. If you are nervous about this you can use a +9V Battery in the Wildwood Mjolnir, if you unplug the input jack when not in use the battery should last a very long amount of time.

Technical Specs

NOS Germanium Diodes

Internal 18volt operation

Buffered bypass.

Top quality jacks, switch, and pots.

Approx. 25 mA Current Draw

Enclosure size: 3.70" x 4.70" x 1.39"

All Mythos Pedals operate on standard 9 volt dc power adapters. Since that time, there have been a string of British amps so iconic that they continue to rule stages around the world. With no master volume and the need to make up for the less-than-adequate PA systems of their day, the only way to get the most from your Plexi was to crank it to punishing volume levels. Since their start in Fullerton, California during the late 1940s, they've been designing and crafting some of the finest-sounding and most-recorded electric guitar amps in history. Whether guitarists lean more toward the company's '60s-style glassy cleans or gritty tweed-era tones, all of us revere the legacy that these amps continue to create. With their blackface, brownface, tweed, and modern designs, there is only one company that truly lies claim to the American sound.

The mid 1960s saw the release of the blackface line of amplifiers that changed the way we hear electric guitar today. Sitting comfortably on top of that prestigious line are a high-powered model with twin 12" speakers, and a luxurious 22-watt, single 12" speaker combo that may be the most recorded and gigged amp of all time. The larger of the two is still the quintessential clean tube amp, ideal for everything from jazz to funk, and has even found its way into the backline of hard rock players such as Mark Tremonti. With the perfect blend of power-amp grind and sparkling-clean top end, the smaller combo has garnered a list of players much too long to list. Add to both amps' list of accomplishments some of the most sought-after tremolo and reverb circuits in history, and these two American combos may be the most iconic guitar amps of all time.

INTERCHANGEABLE PRE-AMP

No list of electric guitar amp tones is complete without the sounds you'll enjoy from your Synergy T/DLX preamp. Carefully crafted to elicit the pure tones of two of California's most iconic guitar amps, the T/DLX preamp may well be your go-to clean and vintage-voiced tonal solution. On one channel you'll find the high-headroom clean tones that are also ideal as a pedal platform. Dial up the gain on the second channel and you'll be greeted with real tube driven breakup and sag that makes those luxury 1 x 12" combos so inspiring. To ensure the T/DLX preamp sounds terrific though your rig, we even included bright and tight switches, which change the tone's character to nail the sound you're looking for. No matter what version of 1960s California tone you crave, you'll find it in the Synergy T/DLX Preamp.

The Synergy T/DLX features two totally separate channels. Box

A Tube Amp's Best Friend

Wildwoodians, we are pleased to introduce Suhr's revamped Reactive Load Impulse Box to your tube amps, because we think they'll become best friends quickly. This marvelous multi-purpose tool performs a host of useful functions for studio sessions, live gigs, and bedroom practice. Basically, it works like this: you plug your guitar into your tube amp, then run the speaker output into the Suhr Reactive Load/I.R. Once the signal hits the Reactive Load, Suhr's fantastic impulse response technology performs its magic.

Follow Your Impulses

Essentially, impulse response is an audiophile-quality form of cabinet simulation. It is sample-based technology that does a pitch-perfect impersonation of a variety of mic'd up speaker cabinets. The Reactive Load/I.R. comes pre-loaded with sixteen impulse responses that simulate different cabinet, speaker, and microphone configurations. So, you can swap from the sound of a roaring 4x12 cabinet with Celestion Greenbacks mic'd up with an SM57 to the more mannered sound of a 1x12 with a Vintage 30 mic'd up with an SM57 and a Royer 121 with a simple turn of a knob. And, if you desire more sonic colors for your palette, have no fear: the Reactive Load/I.R. is an open system. You can load whatever third-party impulse response your heart desires using the USB port.

The preloaded impulse responses have all the spectacular sound quality that we've come to expect from Suhr. In fact, they're nearly indistinguishable from actual mic'd up cabinets! Furthermore, the Reactive Load technology does a superb job of maintaining the feel of playing through a cabinet. You can feel every little detail and nuance of the cabinet without making any noise! Once the signal goes through all of this circuitry, you can send it to a recording interface, mixer, or headphone output using the built-in DI.

A Magnificent Recording Tool

There are many situations in which the Suhr Reactive Load/IR will come in handy. First, it's an excellent home recording tool. Recording guitars is never easy. To get a great sound, you have to have a big enough room in a quiet surrounding environment, and you have to avoid angering your neighbors! With the Suhr Reactive Load/IR, you can crank your Bassman or your JCM800 all the way up and capture a thick, rich tone at three in the morning if you want to. It makes recording easier and more practical (and it makes capturing big amp sounds a whole lot easier!)

Practice Makes Perfect

It's also great for silent practice thanks to its headphone output. If you've ever had the itch to play late at night and settled for using a typical headphone amp, you know that they can sound somewhat less than inspiring. Now, you can have the feel and sound of a real tube amp in a room at any time of the day, and you don't have to wake up your significant other, kids, or neighbors! It also has an 1/8" auxiliary input, so you can connect your favorite music-playing device and jam along to your favorite songs or backing tracks.

Become the Sound Guy's Best Friend

The Suhr Reactive Load/IR is a live workhorse, too. Getting a great live guitar sound can be an absolutely maddening endeavor because there are so many factors that can take your perfectly dialed tone and ruin it. The room might be too boomy, or the sound guy may need you to turn your amp down and render your tone anemic, or the low end from the kick drum may bleed into the mic on your cabinet.

With this magical box, you can render all of those concerns null and void. You can simply run your head into the Suhr Reactive Load/I.R., hand the sound guy a cable running from the DI, tell him to plug it into the mixer, and you're golden. You can use the monitors for stage volume, and rest assured knowing that the tone of your amp will come through cleanly and clearly through the house speakers (and if there are no monitors, there is a way to run the Reactive Load/I.R. with a cab for stage volume). The sound guy will thank you for making his life easier, and your band's mix will be better for it. Not to mention, it's a whole lot lighter than a speaker cabinet, so loading in and out will be much easier on your back!

Tube Tone With No Hassle

We are proud to present such a useful tool to our exceptional customers. Whether you're gigging, recording, or practicing, the Suhr Reactive Load/I.R. will allow you to get roaring tube tone without any of the accompanying hassle. Limited to only 2000 pieces, this run of Rickys were a tribute to John Lennon's original 325, but with a twist. Unlike Lennon's three-quarter-scale original, the 355JL has a 24.75" scale length to accommodate players more used to traditional long-scale instruments. As a result, it is highly comfortable to play!

Sonically, it's an absolute joy. The three vintage toaster pickups in this bad boy nail the classic Rickenbacker chime and jangle. Close your eyes and crank up your amp and you might feel like you've been transported to a small club in Hamburg in 1962. The bridge pickup has tons of sparkle and bite, the middle pickup is sweeter with a broader midrange response, and the neck pickup is righteously smooth and warm with a lovely sunny high end. It's also supremely touch-sensitive! It sounds warm and glassy when you play softly, then the glass breaks in the best possible way when you dig in.

Though it nails the classic jangle of the British Invasion, this guitar can also rock quite hard. Just for funsies, I plugged it into a pinned dirty channel, and it absolutely roared--easily the best rock tone I've gotten in some time! So, while this guitar may be a bit of a collector's item, don't get it twisted: it's a sonic powerhouse that's awfully difficult to put down.

The aesthetic details are all there, too. With that expertise in tow, Friedman moved into crafting his own line of top-shelf electric guitar amplifiers, instruments, and effects, and in doing so has built one of the most enviable roster of artists out there. The Jimmy Page Mirror Tele is just as ready for the stage and studio as its vintage forebear thanks to its superb handfeel, stellar electronics, and resonance-maximizing appointments.

First, let's talk about the wood and the finish underneath the mirrors. Each Mirror Telecaster has a resonant ash body with a fifties-style nitrocellulose lacquer finish. As many Wildwoodians know, nitro finishes allow the wood to breathe and resonate like a vintage guitar. An electric guitar's tone comes primarily from the pickups, but this extra bit of resonance helps push things over the top into total sonic nirvana.

Speaking of pickups, the Jimmy Page Custom '59 single-coils in this beast are jawdropping. The neck pickup is mellow, warm, and vocal, but those descriptors don't quite do it justice. Many Tele neck pickups can sound muted or boxy, but this one is open and three-dimensional. Its throaty, vocal timbre is quite inspiring for smooth lead playing, and the bottom end is quite round and beefy!

By contrast, the bridge pickup is much ruder. The midrange is snappy in an authoritative way, with a focused, punchy and snarling sound that practically compels all eardrums within range to stand at attention. Also, the top end is lush, and you can hear lots of beautiful chiming bell-like overtones. Finally, the low end is tight but present. There's plenty of twang and sparkle on tap for those who desire southern-fried sounds, too.

Feel Those Lovin' Charms

The Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster has a host of ergonomic charms, too! It has an old-school 7.25" radius to go with vintage frets. This rounder radius allows for easy chording up and down the neck, and the lower profile frets allow you to "feel the wood" and play expressively.

But, the real secret behind this Tele's spectacular handfeel is its top-loading bridge. You can string it through the body for a more standard Tele feel and sound if you want, but something magical happens when you top-load it. Top-loading reduces string tension, which results in a more articulate, percussive attack and a warmer overall timbre. The way the percussive twang on the front end of the note gives way to all those blooming overtones is enough to give any serious Zeppelin fan the shivers!

And, as an added bonus, it makes bending strings easier, thereby solving one of the main problems with a 7.25" radius. At some point, guitar players decided that flatter radii were better for soloing and bending, and there is some truth to that. But, because the Mirror Telecaster has less string tension, you can rip fast leads and do big bends just as easily as you can on a 9.5" radius. And, playing chords is easier to boot! Like most vintage octave boxes the Argo reacts best with single coils above the 10th fret, rolling back your volume helps the octave jump out as well.

• Boost control offers plenty of headroom

• Fuzz/Octave control has a wide and dynamic range

• Blend control lets you dial in the perfect amount of fuzz

• Top Mount Jacks

• Top quality jacks, switch, pots, and components throughout

• Through hole components style construction

Soul Acoustasonic Force

Who says a Swiss Army knife can't be deadly? Fender's new Acoustasonic Telecaster certainly is! Designed by the same fellow who came up with the idea for the Taylor T5z, the Acoustasonic Telecaster is one of the most versatile, innovative, and inspiring guitars to come out in the last decade. With its state-of-the-art Acoustic Engine (an AMAZING pickup system borne of a collaborative effort between Fender and Fishman) and Fender's Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS), players are able to experience a wide variety of spectacular acoustic sounds with a mere flick of the wrist. And, should you desire more gristle, the Acoustasonic Telecaster comes equipped with an electric guitar pickup that roars with the best of them!

Whether you're a couch picker, a hard-gigging road dog, or a studio wizard, you'll find a lot to love about the Acoustasonic Telecaster. So, let's take a closer look and see what makes it so special!

Now I'm a Believer

I have to admit, I felt a mixture of excitement and skepticism when the first batch of Acoustasonic Teles arrived. My taste in acoustic guitars leans to the traditionalist side of things, but I'm pragmatic enough to enjoy innovative new designs, and the buzz about these guitars was approaching fever pitch. Could they compete with big-bodied acoustics? Could they hang with electrics? Could they truly deliver the goods? I hoped so, but I had a few nagging doubts.

It took only a few minutes for me to see the light and become a believer. Certainly, their innovative electronics are responsible for much of the Acoustasonic's delights but before I get into that, I want to stress just how well they function as straight-up acoustic guitars. After I tuned one of these bad boys up for the first time, I started playing a couple of licks, and pretty soon half an hour had passed and I hadn't even plugged the amp in!

When I finally got around to amplifying myself, I was absolutely blown away by Fender and Fishman's Acoustic Engine. It truly changes the game for plugged-in acoustic sounds, so let's take a deeper dive and see how it makes the Acoustasonic Telecaster the most dangerous Swiss Army knife out there.

The Little Acoustic Engine That Could

A few years back, Fishman developed a DI pedal called the Aura that solved a problem that has vexed acoustic players for decades: how do you make an acoustic guitar sound natural when you're playing live? Fishman's answer was to take samples of legendary acoustic guitars recorded with nice mics and develop what they call "images" of the guitars. They used these images to create algorithms that cause the input signal to mimic the sonic characteristics of each venerated acoustic. Basically, the pedal did two things: it could make a plugged-in D-18 sound like a mic'd up D-18 (which is a HUGE difference), or it could make that same D-18 sound like, say, an L-00.

Fender spent countless hours working with Fishman to take this Aura technology to new levels of greatness. The pickup system has three elements: a magnetic noiseless Fender single coil that provides the electric voices, an undersaddle Fishman pickup that provides most of the acoustic tone, and the Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer, a pickup used on several settings that follows the top's movement for to allow for greater dynamic response. Best of all, these pickups don't even require a battery to work! You can charge the pickups using a regular mini USB cable, and one four-hour charge will net you about 20 hours of play time.

From there, the signal hits the Acoustic Engine, which gives you ten unique acoustic images to pick from. That may seem like a lot, but Fender and Fishman have done a marvelous job of making the Acoustic Engine easy to use. Let's take a look under the hood and see what inspiring tones we can find!

A V-10 of Tone

Before we get started, let's address the question that is almost certainly bursting forth from your brain: how do you toggle between so many tones with such simple controls? Well, think of the Acoustic Engine as a V-10 engine: a complex machine, certainly, but all the driver has to worry about is putting the key in the ignition. Accessing the ten different tones requires only two knobs and a 5-way switch, and it couldn't be simpler. The knob closest to the soundhole is for volume, and the other one is called the "Mod" knob. It interacts with the five-way switch to give you more options.

For instance, position 5 (what would be the neck position on a Strat) with the mod knob rolled off sounds like a dreadnought with a Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides. When you spin the mod knob all the way back in the other direction, the Acoustasonic Telecaster sounds like a grand auditorium guitar with an Alpine Spruce top and rosewood back and sides. With the mod knob in the middle, it sounds like a blend of the two images (in other words, like a supremely focused D-28).

Here's a quick guide to all the sonic landscapes the Acoustic Engine can carry you off to:

Position 5, Mod Knob Rolled Off: This one sounds like a dreadnought with a Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides. As I mentioned, this is meant to pay homage to the great Martin D-28. It sounds full-bodied and rich but mannered and clear, with plenty of satisfying bass response and sparkly highs.

Position 5, Mod Knob Full-On: With the mod knob full-on, it sounds like a Grand Auditorium with rosewood back and sides and an Alpine Spruce top: essentially, like a Taylor 814ce. Plenty of lush high-end overtones bloom above a warm, woody midrange and tight lows here!

Position 4, Mod Knob Rolled Off: There's no direct comparison to make for this image of a small-bodied acoustic with an Engelmann spruce top and maple back and sides, but it sounds killer: clear, transparent, and chime-y, with the clarity and fast decay maple is known for.

Position 4, Mod Knob Full-On: Here, the Acoustic Engine takes a trip to D-18 City. It emulates a dread with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, and it does an excellent job. You can hear plenty of woody, broad midrange after the initial woody, percussive attack. The highs are open and the lows are muscular, and you can hear the fundamental assert itself with authority.

Position 3, Mod Knob Rolled Off: Here. The Acoustic Engine ratchets up the power in order to sound like a dreadnought with a spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Brazilian rosewood is a holy grail tonewood, and its inimitable essence is tough to capture, but the Acoustic Engine does a marvelous job of recreating its warm, piano-like lows and glassy highs. It sounds like a woody, clear vintage D-28!

Position 3, Mod Knob Full-On: With the mod knob on full in position three, the Acoustasonic Telecaster still sounds like a dread with a spruce top and rosewood back and sides. However, it adds in the body pickup, which makes it sound livelier with more chime and sparkle in the high end and more boom in the lows. This is also a great position for players who use percussive slapping and tapping techniques in their acoustic playing, because the body pickup captures those sounds quite well.

Position 2, Mod Knob Rolled Off: This one is another dreadnought with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, and it does a similarly excellent job of capturing the magic of this classic tonewood combination.

Position 2, Mod Knob Full-On: When you add more mod in position two, it blends in the Noiseless electric guitar pickup. With the mod knob full-on, electric and acoustic are evenly balanced. This is an excellent choice for anyone looking to broaden their sound for solo or full-band gigs.

Position 1, Mod Knob Rolled Off: This position full of classic Tele bridge position tone. You can find plenty of twang, sparkle, jangle, and bite here! Big chords are thick and satisfying but they stay clear, and single-note lines cut through the mix like a laser.

Position 1, Mod Knob Full-On: With the mod knob full on, the Acoustic Engine puts a little bit of extra gristle to your signal. This semi-overdriven tone has more sustain and girthiness, and it provides righteous rock vibes.

Almost a Spitting Image

Before we go any further, it's important to address a question that is no doubt bubbling forth from your consciousness: how close does the Acoustic Engine get to the sound of the instruments it pays homage to? I'll put it this way: the Acoustasonic Tele isn't going to make you want to sell your Taylor 814ce, or your D-18, or your Telecaster. But, it sounds close enough that each image can still compel you to lose yourself in the music, and that's what counts. It certainly doesn't feel like you're playing a Thinline acoustic, that's for sure! It'll never sound quite as rich as a vintage D-28, but it's not supposed to. It's supposed to be a Swiss Army knife that provides lots of spectacular flavors of acoustic tone in one box, and it accomplishes that with great aplomb.

Dangerously Playable

But, the Acoustic Engine isn't the only thing that makes these instruments exceptional. The Acoustasonic Telecaster is also addictive sans electricity for two reasons: spectacular handfeel and the Stringed Instrument Resonance System. The handfeel part is easy to explain: it comes equipped with a modern deep C-shaped neck profile similar to the one you'd find on a production model USA-made Fender electric. It has a 12" radius, which allows for low setups and easy bending, and narrow-tall frets. Narrow-tall frets are wonderful because they make bending easier and generally allow you to expend less effort with your left-hand.

In the end, it feels like you're playing an electric guitar with thicker strings. You have to work for it (the Acoustasonic Tele does come equipped with 12-gauge strings), but you can still perform big bends and all your other typical electric guitar moves. It really is an acoustic that feels like an electric-a godsend for players doing long acoustic gigs!

Thank you SIRS, May I Have Another?

Fender's Stringed Instrument Resonance System is an impressive feat of design that allows the Acoustasonic Telecaster to project enough to compete with other acoustic instruments in an unplugged jam. The design is genius. Fender's luthiers hollow out a solid piece of mahogany using a CNC machine for maximum precision, but they leave a lip on upon which they fix the solid spruce top. Because this lip offers so much stability and support, they don't need to use much bracing-just two transverse braces. The lighter the bracing, the more responsive the guitar is. And, its all-solid wood construction gives it a sweet, woody, midrange-forward tone, and the light bracing makes it quite dynamic and articulate.

But, it doesn't lose volume due to its light bracing because the soundhole port essentially functions as a speaker horn. So, while the Acoustasonic Tele's resonance may not compete with that of a dreadnought, it will certainly cut through enough to be heard if you're jamming unplugged. And, it will still capture the nuances and details of your playing faithfully.

An Inspiration Machine

I've been struggling to find a way to summarize my thoughts on the Acoustasonic Telecaster. I've spent my whole eight-hour day writing about it thus far, and I have lots of important Big Ideas about how it will revolutionize live acoustic performance and make life easier in the studio. But I think the best encapsulation of the Acoustasonic Tele's merits is much simpler. I've been playing this guitar all day today (y'know, I've gotta do my due diligence and properly research my subject), and I've had about ten new ideas for riffs pop out of my hands. That right there is the magic of this guitar: it is an unstoppable inspiration-creating machine!

So, is it an acoustic or an electric? Who cares! It's a wonderful machine that will surely inspire all sorts of new ideas in your playing, and it's supremely practical for live and studio use. Wildwood Guitars is proud to showcase such an innovative instrument, and we know the Acoustasonic Telecaster will inspire you to reach new heights on your fretboard journey.

Strap Up and Turn Heads

Paul Westerberg of The Replacements once said that "playing guitar is mainly about what kind of shirt and shoes you're wearing," and while the Wildwood team thinks there might be a little more to the equation than that, he does have a valid point: when you play guitar, it's fun to look cool. Amplifier Head

Suhr-Tainly Excellent

Wildwoodians, we are proud to present the Pete Thorn PT15, because it is a truly beautiful machine. It's one of the most inspiring, versatile tube amps out there, and it comes loaded with Suhr's revolutionary impulse response and reactive load technologies, which open up a whole new world of tone-shaping options for the stage, studio, and living room. We'll unlock the secrets of this innovative feature in a moment, but for now let's dive in and see what makes the PT15 such an inspiring tube amp.

Three Channels. All the Tones.

A big part of the PT15's magic is its three-channel configuration. Each channel has a lot to offer, and you can use the controls to dial in a wide variety of killer tones with ease and toggle between them on the fly using the included footswitch. You'll be amazed at all the sounds you can wring out of the five 12ax7 preamp tubes and the two 6v6 power tubes merely by tweaking a few knobs. It's also quite powerful for a 15-watt amp, so each channel has no shortage of volume.

The first channel has a classic American voicing with tons of clean headroom. You can quite easily dial in a warm, woody, midrange-forward clean sound or get some classic jangle and sparkle out of it, but it's not just a clean channel. When you crank it up, you can find a sweet spot where the amp is just on the edge of full-on breakup, and if you go past that point, you get glorious beefy vintage crunch. On cleaner settings, it also works marvelously as a pedal platform if you want to get some dirt from your stompboxes.

Channel 2 and 3 are voiced the exact same way so that you can use one as a distorted rhythm tone and one as a distorted lead tone (or have two distorted rhythm tones, or two distorted lead tone--whatever floats your boat!). Both have a British voicing, and you can use them to conjure everything from vintage low- and mid-gain crunch to hard-edged rock to modern high-gain sounds. No matter where you set the gain, the PT15 maintains exceptional articulation and clarity.

Truly, the PT15 is a sonic Swiss Army knife, but you don't have to spend hours in the lab tweaking things to access its full functionality. The controls for each channel are simple and intuitive, and they make it easy for the player to unlock all sorts of killer sounds.

Now that we know what the PT15 can do purely as an amplifier, let's go deeper down the rabbit hole and talk about its revolutionary impulse response and reactive load technology.

Follow Your Impulses

Essentially, impulse response is an audiophile-quality form of cabinet simulation, and reactive load technology allows you to run the amp without connecting it to a cab. It is sample-based technology that does a pitch-perfect impersonation of a variety of mic'd up speaker cabinets. The reactive load/I.R part of the amp. comes pre-loaded with sixteen impulse responses that simulate different cabinet, speaker, and microphone configurations. So, you can swap from the sound of a roaring 4x12 cabinet with Celestion Greenbacks mic'd up with an SM57 to the more mannered sound of a 1x12 with a Vintage 30 mic'd up with an SM57 and a Royer 121 by pressing a couple of buttons.

Once the signal goes through all of this circuitry, you can send it to a recording interface, mixer, or headphone output.

Toggling between these various impulse response--some of which are proprietary blends made by Pete Thorn himself!--is quite intuitive. All you have to do is work use the "Bank" button to toggle between four groups of four impulse responses, then use the "Cab" button to find your preferred sound.

A Magnificent Recording Tool

There are many situations in which the PT15's Reactive Load/IR technology will come in handy. First, it's an excellent home recording tool. Recording guitars is never easy. To get a great sound, you have to have a big enough room in a quiet surrounding environment, and you have to avoid angering your neighbors! With the Suhr reactive load/IR, tech, you can crank your PT15 all the way up and capture a thick, rich tone at three in the morning if you want to.

It also has an 1/8" auxiliary input, so you can connect your music-playing device of choice and jam along to your favorite songs or backing tracks.

Become the Sound Guy's Best Friend

The Suhr reactive load/I.R. technology opens up all sorts of exciting possibilities for live use, too.

You can simply hand the sound guy a cable running from the IR jack, tell him to plug it into the mixer, and you're golden. You can use the monitors for stage volume, and rest assured knowing that the tone of your amp will come through cleanly and clearly through the house speakers. The sound guy will thank you for making his life easier, and your band's mix will be better for it. Not to mention, you don't necessarily need a speaker cab, so loading in and out can be much easier on your back if you use the PT15.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn

We are proud to present the Suhr PT15 because it's a savage beast that can wreak sonic havoc in all sorts of fresh, exciting ways. Even if you never use its revolutionary technology, it's a versatile amp that allows you to cover vast swathes of sonic territory with its easy, intuitive controls. And, Suhr's innovative integration of impulse response and reactive load technology opens up a whole new world of vacuum tube-based fun. Whether you're looking for a killer bedroom amp, a studio stalwart, a live workhorse, or all three, the Suhr PT15 will get the job done with great aplomb. We invite you to take one for a spin and a whole new world of glorious guitar tone.

Channels: 3

Output: 15 watts

Front Panel: Input, Aux Input, Headphone Input, IR Level, (CH1) Bright

Switch, Gain 1, Bass, Treble, Level 1, (CH 2/3): Bright 2/3 Switch, Gain 2,

Gain 3, Bass, Middle, Treble, Level 2, Level 3, Channel Select Switch, I.R.

Bank Select Button, I.R. Over the last 35 years, we have partnered with them to produce all kinds of Wildwood-exclusive guitars, and we believe that those instruments are some of the finest in the world thanks to the incredible creativity, passion, and skill of the good people at Gibson. One project on our wish list always eluded us, though: we’ve never done a Wildwood-exclusive run of Gibson USA guitars. That is, until now! Wildwoodians, please meet the newest member of the Wildwood Family: the Wildwood Select Original Collection Les Paul Standard ‘50s.

The Wildwood Select Les Paul is an attempt to capture some of the magic of our Wildwood Spec Custom Shop instruments in a more affordable package. Since we handpick the tops for our Custom Shop instruments, we asked our friends at the USA factory if we could do the same thing for this run. They were happy to oblige us, and we think you’ll agree that the cuts of maple we chose are absolutely stunning. Be sure to engage your drool-shield if you’re planning on scrolling through these guitars!

We also asked them to spray that handpicked wood with a brand-new exclusive finish. With the helpful guidance of the Gibson team, we settled on a glorious dark cherry burst. This finish is a dark and rich maroon near the edges of the burst, and it lightens to more of a sunset orange in the middle with reddish-purple, light red, and golden hues in between. For us, it evokes the color of a sunset over the Rocky Mountains on a summer night, and it looks positively jaw-dropping on top of the lovely maple we picked out.

The Divine Sound of 1959

Finally, we asked Gibson to wind us an exclusive set of pickups, and they came up with some marvelous humbuckers for us. Here at Wildwood, we love PAFs the way Slash loves top hats, so we asked them to capture the sweet vintage tones of those magical fifties bursts. It was a tall order, to be sure, but the wizards at Gibson delivered. They wound us some Wildwood Spec ’59 Tribute pickups, and I could write a War and Peace-sized treatise about how awesome they are.

But, for the sake of brevity, I’ll keep it to a few hundred words. These boss ‘buckers sound brawny and powerful while maintaining remarkable articulation and clarity. They are also extremely touch-sensitive, which makes for a wonderfully dynamic, expressive playing experience. When you dig in, you are rewarded with glorious snarling tone that makes you want to turn your amplifier all the way up and irritate all your neighbors. When you ease off with your right hand, the tone becomes rounder, warmer, sweeter, and more vocal.

In the bridge position, the low-end is tight and muscular, the midrange punches like Ali, and the highs have just the right amount of sweet, sugary chime. Flip to the neck position and the low-end becomes deep and warm with woody, vintage-style clarity, the mids broaden and become throatier and more open, and the highs sing like Etta James.

Here’s to Thirty-Five Years of Friendship

We are so proud to showcase the Wildwood Select Original Collection Les Paul Standard ‘50s. These guitars are a tribute to our thirty-five year-long friendship with Gibson, and we are so grateful to them for helping us make them a reality. We believe that their handpicked tops and Wildwood-exclusive finish give them an immense amount of swagger and style, and that their Wildwood-exclusive pickups make them true sonic titans. Most importantly, they provide all of this at an incredible value. We invite you to take one for a spin and see for yourself why we’re so giddy with excitement!
